Invisalign treatment involves the use of discreet, clear, plastic aligners that fit comfortably around the teeth. It can be used to correct any problem where teeth aren’t in the correct position, including but not limited to:

  • Crowding where there isn’t enough space for your teeth

  • Spacing where there are gaps between your teeth

  • Problems with the way teeth bite such as crossbites, deep bites and open bites

  • Before treatment with dental implants or before cosmetic treatments such as veneers or composite bonding to get the teeth in the best position first to allow the best results

invisalign treatment

Invisalign is a hugely popular treatment worldwide due to the fantastic results and transformations it can achieve for people. The advantages compared to fixed braces are that the aligners can be removed for eating and cleaning your teeth and that they are smooth so there is minimal irritation of the lips and cheeks. The aligners come in a series that are changed every 1-2 weeks to gently move the teeth into position. We will see you for an appointment every 4-6 weeks to monitor your treatment. Aligners need to be  worn for 21-22 hours per day to be effective.

At the Willows we use digital scanners to avoid patients needing messy and uncomfortable
impressions and ensure very accurate fitting aligners. Before you commit yourself to Invisalign treatment we will show you a 3D simulation of your treatment, which will help to accurately predict the treatment time, as well as showing the final appearance of your new smile.

Treatment length varies depending on the complexity of the case but can be as little as 3 months and is typically 6-9 months. Our clinicians are skilled in supplementary treatments such as tooth whitening and composite bonding if it is required to enhance the end result. It is important that all patients wear retainers after treatment to prevent teeth from moving back.
